The Roll Call: Christmas Gifts

Finding the perfect Christmas present for those close to you is no easy task, so to make things a little more straight-forward, here are a few possible gift ideas that could come in handy. Whether you’re looking for something for a loved one, or are just wondering what you’d like to open on Christmas morning, there should be something to suit here...

Christmas Knitwear Bundles

This season we’ve created three different Christmas gift bundles, made up from our knitwear range. There’s three options—a scarf and a crew-neck, a scarf and a beanie, and a beanie and a crew-neck. Each piece is made in Scotland from 100% wool, making them ideal for that post-Christmas dinner stroll in the great outdoors. Simple—deciding which colour bundle to go for is the hardest part.

A good pair of socks is a tried-and-tested Christmas present that is always appreciated—after all, everyone needs socks, and you can never really have enough. Ours are made especially for us in a small factory in Loughborough, England, and feature a classic ribbed design and a cushioned footbed. Comfortable and warm, with just the right amount of branding on the base, these certainly aren’t the kind of socks to be forgotten at the back of the drawer.

A hearty bit of knitwear is another classic gift that’s always welcomed and always useful. If it’s turtle necks you’re looking for—there’s the Seamless Roll Neck and the George Lowe Roll Neck. They’re both made in Scotland, but the Seamless Roll Neck is constructed from finer gauge wool with a slightly sleeker, seamless shape. We also make the Submarine Knitted Jumper, which is a unique take on the classic fisherman’s jumper, and the Big Shawl Cardigan—a roomy oversized cardigan based on a vintage piece in Nigel’s collection. Built to last, these jumpers aren’t just for Christmas.

Ever since the days of gentlemen’s outfitters and their endless stacks of Oxford cloth, madras and flannel shirts, buying someone a well-made shirt has been a bit of a festive tradition. We make a fair few different types, and whilst listing them all here would probably take a while, our brushed-cotton USMC Shirt (based on a vintage design worn by the US Marines) or our gingham-check POH Deck Shirt seem particularly well suited to laid-back evenings watching old films by the fireplace.

Finally, we’ve got a small range of wallets, made for us by Worcestershire leatherwear company Taylor Kent & Co. This small team focuses on making high-quality leather goods using English bridle leather (that’s a smooth, flexible leather often used on equestrian bridles)—and their wallets really need to be seen in the flesh to be truly appreciated.

This season there are three options—a large, multi-pocket wallet called the Broad Arrow Wallet, the low-profile Slimline Wallet and for those who don’t carry cash, the Leather Credit Card Holder
