HENRI LLOYD FREMANTLE COLLECTION
Nigel Cabourn’s Army Gym in Covent Garden played host to the recent launch of Henri Lloyd’s new Fremantle collection to a select group of retailers and journalists.
Guests were able to get up close to this durable, lightweight collection aimed primarily at inshore keelboat and sports boat sailors in the store, which had been given a Henri Lloyd makeover especially for this event.
For its first collection the new team behind this iconic brand looked to their archives for inspiration as Jonas Olsson, creative director of Henri Lloyd explains: “I wanted to create a collection that people would instantly recognise as Henri Lloyd and I saw a photo from the old Manchester offices of the gear worn by Dennis Connor when Stars and Stripes won the Americas Cup in 1987 in Fremantle and I thought this would be a good starting point.”
The result is a striking collection, which combines athletic design with the latest manufacturing techniques and premium materials like Gore-Tex Pro and is not only visually stunning but functional making it perfect for use on and off the water.
“The layers are exceptionally comfortable and have the best breathability and water resistance on the market today,” adds Olsson.
You can see this new collection online and in store for a limited time and also look forward to a new collaboration between these two British heritage heavyweights – Nigel Cabourn X Henri Lloyd – in spring 2020.
