《Focus on Grey》OPEN COLLAR SHIRT - HEMP & HENLEY NECK SHIRT - HEMP

Hello everyone reading this blog. This is Yabiku from Tokyu Plaza Ginza.

"Grey"
This colour is familiar in our designs, so much so that Nigel Cabourn often offers styles in two colours: Off White and Grey (Charcoal Grey). While Off White gives off a cool and light feel, Grey exudes a refined and masculine aura.

Which one do you prefer?

The two items we are introducing this time have a unique depth that is different from the Grey we usually offer. This time, we will focus on the colour to explain why it has such depth. Please be sure to read until the end.

These two styles, which are part of the HIGH SUMMER COLLECTION, are both made from hemp fabric and feature long sleeves.

First, let's talk about the colour (dyeing). This product is made from HEMP POPLIN fabric that has been pigment dyed and then washed.

In the case of plain weave formed by warp and weft threads, the weft threads tend to be more easily dyed and the warp threads less easily dyed. This is because the warp threads are under tension during weaving, which causes the threads to become taught which makes it difficult for the dye to penetrate.

Since pigment dyeing does not fully penetrate the thread, it results in variations in colour shade and fading, resulting in a vintage-like finish. Up to this point, it is just a pigment-dyed shirt, but the next process, washing, is a very important step.

The pigment dye alone is already stylish, but when you wash it, friction is created, causing some pilling and fading of the colour. I think it is no exaggeration to say that this colour fading significantly increases the value of this product.

This fade looks like it has streaks in it. If I had to sum it up in one word, the word "awesome" would be perfect.

From here on, the colour will naturally fade with repeated wearing, and at first glance it will stand up to being described as vintage.

The faded design makes it even more compatible with military style items, making it extremely versatile.

After working up a sweat while outside, you go into an air-conditioned room. At first it feels cool and comfortable, but after the sweat dries, it suddenly becomes chilly and you start to feel cold.

In such cases, if you are wearing long sleeves, you can lower your sleeves to keep out the cold, or roll them up if you get too hot, allowing you to regulate your temperature.

Personally, this style is my preference.
I absolutely love this pattern...

The style is that of a work shirt. The longer back body indicates that it is based on a European shirt. Compared to the OPEN COLLAR SHIRT, this product has a more mature and elegant look, so it goes great with chinos or work pants.

I styled the OPEN COLLAR SHIRT in a casual style. This simple look can be created by simply wearing the mango patterned shorts released last year over the 7.8oz HENLEY T-SHIRT. It would also look good to combine pigment-dyed items together.

Next, I chose the HENLEY NECK SHIRT, which has a neat look, and the OFFICERS PANT - WEAPON. To make the most of this product, it is best to choose pants that go with this beautiful silhouette.

We hope you will experience this product for yourself, with its grey colour that exudes a sophisticated atmosphere and the faded finish that gives it a very old-fashioned feel.

We look forward to your visit and inquiries.
