Hello everyone who reads this blog. This is Yata from Nigel Cabourn LUCUA Osaka store.
Now that we are in the peak of the cold season, there is an item I would like to introduce to you again. I will be suggesting this product, which I have a very special attachment to, in a different size than the one I usually wear.
FITTING SIZE: 50
The design is based on vintage utility shirts, mixing pocket designs from shirts of different eras. The excellent details that were adopted after much trial and error from the 1920s to the 1940s really shine through.
On top of that, Nigel Cabourn is particular about quality. The upper part is made of 10oz fabric from Okayama, the finest denim, and the lower part is made of Oxford cloth. The colour slowly fades, going from a vibrant blue to a beautiful aged look, which is probably already well known.
I usually wear a size 48 like a shirt, but this time I tried a size 50, layering it over a MEDICAL SHIRT. The atmosphere and silhouette were completely different from before, and I was instantly captivated by the way the shoulders dropped. I love this oversized fit. Also, the width and length are designed to be wide and long, so even if you choose your usual size, it might feel a little big.
For bottoms, I chose the BASIC CHINO PANT. This signature item comes in three colours: light beige, beige, and green. For my first pair, I chose beige. I chose size 34, and I still remember being drawn to this colour because it can be used both as a traditional look and as military chinos. They are made with a high-density twill weave, and needless to say, it's a tough fabric, so strong that when sewing it on a sewing machine, smoke comes out of the needle.
However, the true essence of these pants is that they don't forget how easy they are to wear on a daily basis. I feel every day wondering just how far these pants will develop. The more you wear them, the more the fabric becomes familiar and develops a unique patina, and washing them makes that even more certain. They have a ruggedness derived from military wear, but they don't lose their elegance. They are truly a well-balanced item.
As mentioned above, these pants can be used in two different looks, and this time I've created a look that leans towards military style, but still retains a certain ease of everyday wear.
Wearing BRITISH ARMY LOOSE DENIM here to create a military-style set would also be great, but I settled on these because they are easy to match with any occasion and each item has its own presence.
What do you think? We tend to focus on seasonal items, but it's actually rare to find all sizes in stock at the store. Limited stock due to the inability to mass-produce. Once again, go back to basics and experience the quality of the signature model at the store.
