Surprisingly, this is the first time that the familiar ARMY CARGO SHORT has been made in camouflage. The camouflage pattern is made by pigment printing on a cotton fabric that is slightly stiffer than the standard back satin.
We produce a number of other pigment items, but they are usually characterised by very vibrant colours. By applying a process that fades the colour, which is also in the product name, we give it a look that rivals vintage.

The eye-catching camouflage is the British military's signature "brushstroke pattern camo."
This camouflage pattern was adopted by the British Army's Special Air Service in the 1940s (commonly known as SAS), and has been used frequently in Nigel Cabourn's collections to date.
It currently commands an incredible price in the vintage market, and with very few remaining original pieces, it is a rare pattern that is coveted by military enthusiasts.
Another interesting point is that the British military replaced the khaki and brown colours used in this product with a green-based colour scheme similar to that of their ally the Belgian military, who also use the same brushstroke pattern camo.

As you may already know, the ARMY CARGO SHORT is an item based on the US military's M-51.
The greatest feature of this item is the pleasant sense of incongruity that comes from the British military-based camouflage on a style that military enthusiasts will instantly recognise as US military.
There are vintage pants available that are cut off, but for this product the pattern has been altered to make shorts.
The volume that spreads from the thighs when worn creates a unique silhouette that goes well with any top.

To make the most of the camouflage, I tried to keep the outfit as simple as possible by wearing the 7.8oz BASIC T-SHIRT in Off White. This is probably the most realistic look for midsummer. In the end, this sort of style is the best.
