To all of you reading this blog, hello. This is Kamata from the FLAGSHIP STORE.
The item that attracted so much attention at the pre-order event has finally arrived. A herringbone top and bottom set with just the right amount of fading. This outfit would be perfect for early spring.
-Focusing on the work uniforms of the U.S. Marine Corps -
This product is based on U.S. military uniforms, specifically those worn by the USMC (United States Marine Corps), an independent elite unit. The USMC was founded in 1775, and is said to be one of the oldest military organisations in America, and was known as the "First to Fight" unit, responsible for amphibious assaults, advance forces, and rapid deployment to dangerous zones, and was a tough unit known as a threat to enemy nations.
Furthermore, they were known as a small, elite force capable of handling all land, sea, and air missions to a reasonable degree, and were highly loyal, prioritising their comrades and unit above all else. They were more like a "tribe" than a military force. We've revived the uniforms of that unit for the modern era.
-USMC P-41 system-
The image above shows a comparison of my personal vintage item with the original product I used as a reference. Due to its age, one of the front pockets is missing, but a patch pocket has been retained, giving this product a simple and minimalist design that provides essential functionality.
During the material shortages of that era, many P-41 jackets had different fabric constructions for the body and pockets. This product also captures the atmosphere of that time by using a patchwork design.
-P-44 Trousers-
Monkey pants are now a familiar sight. This organisation also has its roots in the USMC. In this unit, which is often engaged in amphibious assaults and combat, military pants that hinder movement are strictly forbidden. Therefore, the Monkey Pocket was created with ease of movement in mind, allowing for easy storage and retrieval of ammunition and maps while prone or kneeling during shooting.
-Use of the brand's original fabric "SZ Herringbone"-
I'd also like you to pay attention to the fabric. Herringbone fabric is one of the most durable fabrics for military uniforms, but simply using a common herringbone pattern wouldn't be interesting. That's when ZUKI noticed a rare herringbone fabric used in a particular vintage piece. After analyzing the fabric from the yarn down and going through numerous trials and errors, he created "SZ Herringbone."
In the process of making yarn, twisting and bundling fibres together is called "twisting." This "SZ herringbone" pattern is created by aligning yarns that twist clockwise and counterclockwise next to each other. The "SZ" in the pattern indicates the angle of rotation. This fabric is even more durable than regular fabrics, has a textured surface, and develops a rich patina over time, making it a truly special material. If you don't already have one, I highly recommend you try it.
Wearing Size: Jacket 48, Pants 32 / Height 175cm
Whether used as part of a set or as a standalone item, this is a very versatile product. The sizing is comfortably roomy, and the silhouette is suitable for all body types and seasons.
While the classic green is hard to resist, the navy version, which looked great in the catalog, is likely to be in high demand. Its rarity, something you don't find in vintage items, is really appealing...
A stylish and versatile suit set perfect for early spring.
