《Jute fabric》SWISS ARMY RUCKSACK - PEAT LABEL

Thank you for always reading my blog. This is Endo from Nigel Cabourn.

The long public holiday is over, and I'm sure many of you have returned to your normal daily lives.

This is a large backpack that is suitable for travelling, and so I originally wanted to introduce it before the holidays. The holidays are over, but I would like to introduce an item that is perfect for those who are currently looking for a backpack.

SWISS ARMY RUCKSACK - PEAT LABEL
Item No. 80490061005
Colour : Beige
Size : F

The "SWISS ARMY RUCKSACK" is perhaps the most memorable of Nigel Cabourn's bag designs.

This masterpiece is based on a backpack used by the Swiss Army mountain troops during the 1960s, and while retaining the look and feel of the original, it has been modified to make it suitable for modern use.

The "Jute Fabric" used on this bag is different to the usual look, which is a reproduction of the original.

What we would like to introduce to you today is this version, which uses a different material called "jute fabric."

At this stage in the season, this is the last bag available in our directly managed stores, including our online store. If you are looking for a high-quality, durable companion, please read on to the end.

Jute is simply just a type of hemp fibre.

In contrast to the soft touch of linen and ramie, which are commonly used for clothing, this jute material is characterised by its rough and tough texture and is commonly used for rugs and other durable items.

It is highly breathable, moisture-controlling and durable, so it is typically used for items like coffee bean bags. The jute fabric used by Nigel Cabourn is made with the utmost attention to the quality of the material and the design, resulting in a unique finish.

A fine count cotton yarn is used for the warp yarn, and an extremely thick jute single yarn is woven at a high density for the weft yarn, which adds the flexibility of cotton yarn to the stiff texture characteristic of jute.

Jute yarn has no stretch, so usually when woven at a high density, the yarn is glued to prevent it from breaking during weaving. This product is woven without glue, and is woven carefully and slowly to bring out the texture to the fullest.

Imagine what it will be like in five or ten years' time, after it's been used, and there's surely no other fabric you can look forward to using more.

The leather parts are made of oil-rich chrome tanned leather. It is highly durable and flexible, making it the most suitable leather for a bag of this design.

Of course, just like jute fabric, you can expect the leather to change over time.

This is how big the bag is when I carry it, I am 186cm tall. It feels a little larger than a small backpack you might use on a daily basis, but it's a size that won't look too big if you do. This size should be just right for a three-day, two-night trip.

The SWISS ARMY RUCKSACK is useful in a variety of situations.
