Shorts are something that arrive surprisingly early every year. These Battle Dress Shorts are one such item. They originally arrived in April, when the weather still feels like spring. To be honest, I don't really get a chance to wear them in the spring...
On a personal note, I recently purchased these Battle Dress Shorts.
Due to the nature of our job, store staff are often ahead of the season when these kind of items are on the shelves, but it seems like we have an irresistible urge to wear shorts when the weather gets hot rather than ahead of the season.
I was reminded once again of how good this product is, so I would like to introduce it to you here.

- 10oz DENIM
The average thickness of denim on the market is said to be about 12 to 14 oz, but this product is only 10 oz. It is perfect for summer use and is very light.
Most of the collections that are released in the height of summer tend to use linen and nylon blends, but this product is simply 100% cotton, which is also great.
The other day, when I visited Koenji on personal business, I entered a second-hand clothing store and was suddenly reminded of the time when I used to buy T-shirts in great numbers. At that time, I collected 100% cotton Made in America jersey, and was fascinated by the unique colour fade and fuzziness. Even now, my experience at that thrift store is one of the criteria I use when choosing clothes.
This product will undoubtedly show off the wonderful changes that come with pure cotton.

‐ Wide silhouette below the knee
Another attractive feature of this product is the flared silhouette that covers the knees.
Not only military fashion but also street and fashion vibes can be seen.
The biggest advantage of this silhouette is that it can be styled with any length of top.
It's perfect for those who want to avoid exposing their legs as much as possible. I think this is the longest inseam of any pair of shorts we've released in the 11 years since I joined the company. If you can think of any longer shorts, please let us know.

‐ A classy British military gimmick
What makes British military uniforms different from those of other countries is that they are government-issued.
There was no concept of mass production, and used items were not discarded, but were regulated to be returned to the country. Also, since there were cases where the military attended ceremonies and parties while wearing their uniforms, the British military had many elegant features.
This product also features front pleated tucks reminiscent of slacks, cargo pockets without gussets so as not to disrupt the silhouette of the pants, and is filled with beautiful details that are typical of British elegance.
Shorts can sometimes look childish, but these shorts don't feel that way.

I tried to create a simple styling look by eliminating all unnecessary elements so that the pants would be the focal point. I tucked in the top to highlight the details of the pants.
I think it would be nice to incorporate some accessories to add an accent colour.

The green colourway is also really nice. It is reminiscent of one of the British military's most famous vintage masterpieces, the OVERALLS DENIM TROUSERS.
The original is full-length, but these are shorts, which is nice because it differentiates them from the vintage version.

These are made from a lightweight 10oz 100% cotton, with a long flared silhouette below the knee. Personally, these are my most recommended shorts this season.・
