Hello everyone reading this blog. This is Yabiku from the Tokyu Plaza Ginza store.
When it comes to Nigel Cabourn summer shirts, there's nothing else that comes to mind other than the OPEN COLLAR SHIRT. You will probably see all our store staff wearing this piece over the summer.
Some people may wonder why such a simple shirt is so popular. I think some people would rather have a shirt with a quirk.
So this time, we would like to share with you the appeal of items that have been stripped of all flashy designs, with the motto in mind: "Simple is the best."

OPEN COLLAR SHIRT - LINEN TWILL
Item No. 80500011005
Colour : Charcoal Grey / Off White
Size : 46 / 48 / 50 / 52 / 54
This shirt has a very simple appearance with just two flap pockets on the chest and the open collar. It is a very ordinary looking open collar shirt that has been carefully refined to the smallest detail, and does not incorporate any trendy design features.
So, why does it have so much support from staff and customers?
I think it's because the shirt itself is not too bold and so can be easily matched to the wearer's style and overall look, and from my perspective, this is a shirt that goes very well with all other items.

The fabric used in LINEN TWILL.
This fabric is characterised by moderate stiffness and lustre. This moderate stiffness will gradually wear down to a soft, draped look the more your wear it in. As you continue to wear it, the neps characteristic of linen will appear and the fabric will become fluffier, giving it a brushed appearance.
This fabric undergoes three stages of change, allowing you to enjoy the whole process.
This level of change does not occur with synthetic fibres such as rayon, so it is a feature of linen.

As mentioned above, the details of this shirt are very simple. The collar is wide and open, creating a boxy silhouette.
This silhouette is perfect for an open-collar shirt. There are two tucks on the back to prevent the fabric from becoming tight.

If you look closely, you will see even more attention to detail. This next point is about the buttons.
Both colours in this style feature buttons made of natural shell, which have a unique shine. Another feature of these buttons is that when you look at them from different angles, the light reflects in a rainbow of colours.
Even if the fabric is good and the design is good, if cheap buttons are used on a shirt, the inexpensive nature will be evident. Buttons are quite important!
To avoid any mismatches between the buttons and the fabric, Nigel Cabourn is very particular about the selection of buttons. We use buttons of all different colours, made from materials such as shell, wood, coconut and corozo, to suit the colouring of the product.

◆ Off White
Height: 173cm / Wearing size: 48
I tried wearing this off white colour over pigment-dyed items on both the top and bottom.
By combining this shirt with masculine looking pigment dye items, I think it gives off a cool yet clean impression.
As for the Off White shirt, I am wearing a size 48. For my build I think a size 50 would also be fine, so I think it's okay to go up one size from your usual size.

◆ Charcoal Grey
Wearing size: 50
The Charcoal Grey colour shirt is paired with the ARMY CARGO PANTS, a classic Nigel Cabourn piece. After all, this is the best styling, isn't it?
If you wear these two you can't go wrong. Just as a plain white t-shirt and denim go well together, an open collar shirt and army cargo pants go well together. I think this simple style is the ultimate in sophistication.
There are plenty of reasons why this product has continued to be a staple in our collections. I would love for everyone to experience this.
We look forward to your visit and inquiries.
