We'd like to introduce a military coat that's typical of Nigel Cabourn, focusing on the iconic N-2 DECK COAT of the US Navy.
The most appealing feature of this product is undoubtedly its reversible design, using different fabrics on the front and back. The outer surface is garment-dyed cotton ripstop, while the inner surface uses brightly coloured cotton twill, allowing it to be worn on both sides.
The reversible zipper and pockets are also a nice touch, ensuring the design remains consistent across both sides. The contrast between the front and back evokes a sense of the unique archives owned by designer Nigel Cabourn, doesn't it? (laughs)
And what I'd like you to pay attention to is this quilting stitch.
By applying this stitch and then washing the garment, the surface, which has a low shrinkage rate, does not shrink, while the reverse side, which has a high shrinkage rate, shrinks, resulting in a fabric with a washed-out texture.
This stitch is normally used to prevent the padding from shifting, but in the case of this product, it is used for the approach described above. I think Nigel Cabourn is the only one who would come up with such an idea.
Personally, I like the military-inspired outer surface, but I also prefer the inner surface, which has an outdoor wear feel. For the Green version, we used orange, a highly visible rescue colour, similar to the MA-1, while the Khaki version uses a green with a more subdued military feel.
This fabric is actually the same as the CRICKET CLUB US4 FLIGHT JACKET that will be released in the same season. It's an extremely lightweight fabric, so it's comfortable and easy to wear.

It's wonderful to be able to enjoy these two sides in a single coat. While there are many reversible products on the market, it's rare to come across a reversible coat that is this uncompromising. If you're looking for a spring coat, I highly recommend considering this one.
