The SS26 LYBRO collection has arrived in stores, and the feeling of the new season's start is really building.
It's still a little chilly in the mornings and evenings, but it gets warm when the sun comes out during the day. Cold days are followed by sudden warm days, and then cold days again. These days are typical of when spring is approaching.
There's still no sign of the arrival of the brand's top-of-the-line collections like AUTHENTIC LINE and OX'ED SILVER, but my desire to shop hasn't subsided, and I couldn't resist buying some things before they arrived.
This British-made garment, which arrived a little late, is the AW25 model announced as a completely new addition to the AUTHENTIC LINE.
Arriving just as the winter season was drawing to a close in the industry, it had undergone more updates than expected since the sample, and it completely captivated me from the moment it arrived.
The corozo buttons on the sample were replaced with horn buttons, the tape fastening on the sleeves and epaulets was changed to stitching, mirror-finish snap buttons were used, and the buttonholes were beautifully finished, giving it a truly luxurious look.
A large pocket is set inside, and the opening is lined with VENTILE®, which also serves as reinforcement, adding to the luxurious specifications. A V-shaped riri zipper, reminiscent of a certain fashion house, runs across the body, and the arrow mark icon enhances the NC feel.
A pen holder with MK4 detail work is set in just the right position on the sleeve and blends well with the military design of the epaulets. The lining is made of high-quality broadcloth cotton sourced from a famous British supplier with a 70-year history, making it soft, smooth, and comfortable to wear.
While I'm familiar with the robustness of L24's high-density VENTILE®, I was surprised at how much the atmosphere changed just by altering the pattern. The excellent quality of the pattern taught me this lesson.
I've had enough of autumn/winter, it's time for spring/summer. In fact, new VENTILE® items are arriving soon. Maybe I should just wait for those.
I've had this conversation in my head countless times. While I'm still drawn to LE5's SMOCK, I feel like I've taken on the mission of collecting VENTILE® items.
The exquisite silhouette is something that can't be fully appreciated just by looking at it. The curved shoulder slope, large collar, and oversized hood create a high centre of gravity, while the short length gives it a streamlined look.
This feeling of wearing a short length again after a long time is light and incredibly comfortable. It's dense and sturdy, but the relationship between VENTILE® and the lining works so well that it's soft.
I immediately knew it would be a valuable outer layer to wear in seasons other than summer. It's definitely perfect for early spring as well. I paired it with the new B.OFFICERS SHIRT TYPE2 in navy as an inner layer. The white stitching adds a light and effective touch.
Green or navy? I wavered back and forth, but the navy was simply wonderful.
I knew how great navy is because it's so consistently good, but VENTILE®'s navy varies depending on the production batch, so it's always an exciting colour to look forward to. It's incredibly good.
I paired it with a beautifully faded 40s denim jacket as an inner layer. Despite being short, the length is just right for layering a denim jacket underneath, and I'm very satisfied with that. It fits so well that I think this will probably be the way I wear it the most.
This piece uses a true navy, not a black navy. Therefore, as you continue to wear it, the colour will start to fade, and the faded navy will eventually settle into a blue-gray colour.
Many vintage VENTILE® pieces have that kind of look, and I'm sure many people are drawn to them. This navy is a colour that promises that kind of growth.
Green and navy.
It's been a long time since I've found an outer garment of such high quality that I can say I won't regret buying either one.
I was captivated and enthralled by the relaxed, almost airy silhouette that makes you feel like you're swimming in it, and a new style has been added to my VENTILE® collection.
I've been collecting VENTILE® pieces for a long time, and what hasn't changed is my emphasis on quality. The accessories used, the silhouette of the style itself, the thickness and weight of the fabric— there are slight variations in these, and that's what makes it enjoyable.
The unpredictable charm unique to imported fabrics, and the inherent elegance they possess, are irresistible. VENTILE® is an important fabric that Nigel Cabourn loves and trusts, selecting it according to the season's theme and shaping the contours of the brand's history.
It's not something I wear thinking, "This will do today," but rather something that makes me want to wear it again today.
The RAF UTILITY JACKET , my belated AW25 BEST BUY.
