FRENCH WORK PANT - 8W CORDUROY
Item No. 80510050002
Colour : Dark Brown / Charcoal
Size : 30 / 32 / 34 / 36

This season's much-anticipated CORDUROY series has finally arrived.
It was very popular at the reservation event, so I'm sure there has been many people waiting.

This series uses 8-wale double-weave corduroy.
"Wale" refers to the number of ridges, and 8-wale ridges are neither too thick nor too thin, achieving an exquisite balance of power and elegance.

What's more, because it's finished with a double weave, you can enjoy the reassuring thickness and depth of its appearance.

It is extremely rare to find a Japanese weaver capable of weaving such heavy corduroy.
Its existence in itself is valuable.

‐ Commitment to dyeing -

This series uses a special dyeing method for corduroy.

Corduroy is typically dyed by rotating the fabric and circulating the dye.

However, this series uses a different method called "cold batch dyeing."

Cold batch dyeing is a special technique that uses osmotic pressure and the chemical reaction of reactive dyes to slowly fix the colour.

If you do this with a textured material like corduroy, the dye won't come out evenly and you'll end up with an uneven look, but Nigel Cabourn is a force to be reckoned with.
They've taken advantage of this unevenness and left just the right amount of shadow to create a vintage look.

After dyeing, the fabric is then tumbled to soften the fabric and settle the pile, resulting in a soft feel.

The high quality of this fabric is something you should try and feel for yourself.

- Traditional leather knot buttons -

The FRENCH WORK JACKET features leather buttons known as leather knot buttons.

Their unique design, with crisscross seams, sets them apart from regular buttons.

Their rounded shape and three-dimensionality add an accent to the jacket.

These buttons are made by blanching pieces of leather in lukewarm water and then assembling them together.

As a result, each button has a slightly different colour and texture, which is one of their charms.

The unevenness unique to natural fibres, combined with a patina over time, allows for a richer, more enjoyable texture.

These leather knot buttons can be traced back to traditional buttons often found on classic items such as hunting jackets, country wear, and duffle coats.

Given this historical context, they are an excellent match for corduroy.

FRENCH WORK JACKET - 8W CORDUROY

Height: 187cm / Wearing Size: 52

This product is unlined, so it feels more like a coverall than a jacket.

The jacket we used as inspiration is a rare French work jacket with flaps on the pockets.

The pockets on both hips are gusseted and pouch-shaped, offering excellent storage capacity.

The wide body means you can wear it as an inner layer under thick items such as knits and sweatshirts.

As shown in the styling look, it would also be nice to pair it with RAILMAN DENIM PANT for a work-style look.

FRENCH WORK PANT - 8W CORDUROY

Height: 175cm / Wearing Size: 34

This product is based on French work pants from the 1940s.

While they appear simple at first glance, they feature work pant details such as suspender buttons around the waist, a cinch back, and a V-shaped slit.

Also worth noting is the deep rise.
This was designed to make work easier for workers of the time.

For styling, it pairs perfectly with the 12.5oz 40s DENIM JACKET.

Height: 186cm
Jacket Size: 52
Pant Size: 36

Of course, it can also be worn as a set.
It's corduroy that gives a classic yet nostalgic feel.
It has a warmth that wool just can't provide.

A surefire way to wear it is with a GRANDPA SHIRT - CHECK underneath, like in the look in the cataloge.

Be sure to check out the CORDUROY series, which is the hottest item this season.
