That's how I interpret it, and I get excited every time a product that embodies that worldview arrives.

Here we will briefly explain the key points of its cool details!
【Watch Pocket】
First, I'd like you to take a look at the chest pocket on the left.
This is a watch pocket for storing a pocket watch attached by a chain (Albert chain).
This pocket is designed to prevent the pocket watch from falling out even when bending over, and is a famous detail seen on shirts and coveralls from an era before wristwatches were invented.
It was also found in Nigel's personal collection.
I think there are very few people who carry a pocket watch on a chain these days, but I still feel a kind of admiration for the sight of a chain on their chest.
For people like me, I recommend attaching a lighter or house keys to the end of the chain rather than a pocket watch.
By attaching something you normally carry with you on a chain and moving it to your watch pocket, you can also express a modern functional beauty that makes it less likely to get lost and easier to access.
This way of thinking is only 20% pretence, and 80% is the coolness of having a chain on your chest.
【Bartacks】
Bartacks are a familiar detail on Nigel products, and are a type of stitching in the shape of the letter "1" applied to areas that are subject to stress.
They are used to reinforce the upper corners of pockets and the tops and bottoms of belt loops.
They were created as an alternative to rivets, and are a detail that can still be seen on many pieces of clothing today.
The watch pocket mentioned earlier also features a bartack, and this kind of fine detail is truly impressive.
【Double Elbow】
This season, Nigel Cabourn Woman has introduced double knee pants (pants with a patch in the knee area and double layer of fabric), but these also feature double elbow pants with double layer of fabric in the elbow area.
Double elbows are used to reinforce the elbow area, which is prone to damage from bending and straightening the arm and friction.
Nigel had an item with similar specifications in his collection.
This one had a different fabric attached to the elbow area than the body, but this product has the same fabric as the body attached up to just before the cuffs, so it blends in well with the body.
The patches are attached with double stitching, so you can look forward to seeing them change over time as they pucker*.
*Puckering is a wavy wrinkle that occurs around the stitching; the raised areas lose color due to friction, while the recessed areas retain their color.
As the puckering ages, it creates a gradation of unevenness, and you'll be excited every time you see the beautiful double elbows.
The puckering that stretches from the elbow to the sleeve is sure to make a striking statement.
【Triple stitching】
We saw double stitching with the double elbows mentioned earlier, but this is triple stitching.
You can see the three stitches lined up on the back yoke in the photo (two white and one blue).
This is also a detail used in workwear to reinforce areas that are likely to be subjected to stress.
This is the most obvious detail that demonstrates the durability required of workwear, and triple stitching makes a big difference.
