This item features shoulder straps made from deadstock fabric purchased at Clignancourt, one of the largest flea markets in Paris.
The Clignancourt flea market, which marks the first of all flea markets, began in 1885. It is said that it was started by people called chiffoniers, who would collect sellable items from discarded and unwanted items and sell them. It has now become the world's largest flea market, attracting antique and vintage dealers from all over the world.
The appeal of vintage items is that they already have a unique character. Since production standards are so strict nowadays, I think the rough texture of the fabric from that time is unique to vintage items
