When transitioning from summer to autumn, a useful item to have is the long-sleeved T-shirt, commonly known as a "long T." Personally, I can wear them for a long period of time, so I always find myself looking for them around this time of year.

This long-sleeved T-shirt is based on the uniform of the USMC (United States Marine Corps) from the 1940s.
Starting this season, we've changed from the extra-thick 9.5 oz. cut-and-sew fabric we've previously offered to 7.8 oz. The moderate thickness of 7.8 oz. provides a rugged yet comfortable fit that's perfect for everyday wear.

Let's start with the solid colour.
This time, we're only carrying the undyed solid colour in white. Those who own the 9.5 oz. version will agree, but its versatility is simply unmatched. Not only can it be worn on its own, but the elaborate neck detailing also makes a statement when worn as an inner layer.

This is the neckline.
The half bias stitching on the collar part creates a twist. After analyzing the original vintage, we decided to adopt these specifications for this product.
Nigel Cabourn offers a wide range of cut and sew items, but this is the only one to feature this specification. It is this uncompromising attention to detail that shows the true essence of Nigel Cabourn.

Next up is Pigment.
Available in three colours: green, dark navy, and black.
Pigment's greatest feature is its appearance, which is reminiscent of vintage clothing. This technique of applying pigment to the surface of the fabric creates natural unevenness and fading as the fabric is worn, giving it a deeper appearance as if it has been worn for many years.
No two garments are alike, and their unique texture is a special charm not found in mass-produced items.

Many of Nigel Cabourn's cut-and-sew items feature a round body. This product is no exception and has no seams.
The "round body" design can only be produced on a limited number of knitting machines. The lack of side seams creates a beautiful, streamlined line for a comfortable, natural fit.
Another major feature is that the lack of seams means the fabric maintains its directional integrity, so it is less likely to lose its shape with washing or aging, allowing it to maintain its natural silhouette for a long time.

7.8oz was added to Nigel Cabourn's cut and sew fabric lineup last summer. I'm completely hooked on this thickness, which is perfect for everyday use.
This time I chose the pigment navy. It's the perfect inner layer for the LYBRO jacket I introduced the other day.
