The "UTILITY SHIRT TYPE2 - 10oz DENIM" is one of Nigel Cabourn's signature items.
This item has previously been available in two colours, indigo and green, but this season, for the first time, it's available in black.

What's most noteworthy about this product is that it deliberately selects and combines parts from different items to reconstruct it into an entirely new shirt.
It's such a bold combination that if the balance had been misplaced, it could easily have been a mere remake, but it's only Nigel Cabourn, whose specialty is eclecticism, that has made it work.
①PULLOVER DENIM JACKET
The large pockets on both sides of the front are based on the "PULLOVER DENIM JACKET" used by the U.S. Army in the 1920s.
As the name suggests, it is a smock-type jacket. It was not intended for combat, but was primarily worn as workwear for maintenance and training.
This product has been changed to a fully open type for added convenience.
②M-43 HBT JACKET
The left chest pocket with a flap is modelled after the M-43 HBT JACKET used by the USMC (Marine Corps) in the 1940s.
③U.S.NAVY chambray shirt
The lower shirt fabric, which is a contrasting design, is modelled after the chambray shirts used by the US Navy.
However, it has been switched up in black.

Since black-and-white films do not have colour, the actors' expressions and gazes, as well as indirect lighting, convey the story and prompt the viewer to think.
I believe this same approach can be applied to clothing as well.
As the visual effect of colour is relatively limited in products like this one, it will not be well-received unless attention is paid to the quality of the fabric, design, and even the stitching.
Black is such a difficult colour to pull off.
The fact that they took on this challenge shows that they are confident in this product, and that it is a refined, complete model.
I also feel that this piece embodies the designer's desire for people to enjoy looking at the fine details of the fabric, design, and stitching, rather than relying solely on colour.

I wore this item as an inner layer this time because I couldn't stand the cold and wanted to wear it as my main piece.
The black colour adds a nice accent to your outfit and tightens up your styling.
