《US ARMY HBT Series Timeless Classic - FATIGUE JACKET - MODIFY》

Hello everyone, this is Nishizawa from our Osaka store.

The temperature has dropped quite a bit this week! December-like temperatures have been continuing since the start of the week, and the nights are feeling especially chilly. The local specialties where I live are in peak season during October, so even the country roads normally quiet for locals become quite congested from the highway interchange. Seeing the excitement of tourists visiting from all over the area really makes me feel like autumn is here.

This HBT fabric will age beautifully with wear, developing a soft texture that will be perfect not only for the current temperatures but also for early spring.

This is a classic military jacket from the U.S. Army, featuring the signature Nigel Cabourn fabric quality and edgy design.

1940s military wear includes many classic military jacket designs that are the pride of the US Army. The US ARMY 1940's HBT series is extremely popular in the vintage market.

1940s US ARMY military wear is characterised by its use of herringbone (HBT) fabric, and many of these items are considered masterpieces.

This jacket was modified by Nigel Cabourn, focusing on test sample models from the transitional period from the M-41 to the M-43, a very rare product that was only produced in very small quantities.

The most attractive features of the base M-43 HBT jacket are the large vertical gusseted pockets on both sides of the chest and the impressive presence of the 13-star buttons. The gas flap detailing on the back of the placket is one of the jacket's greatest appeals and iconic design. The carefully considered functionality, impressive appearance, and stylish look are likely the reasons for its popularity.

One of the unique features of this piece is the pocket parts attached to both sides, which create a unique and appealing design with a quirky effect. Another fun point is how the satin and herringbone fabrics age differently over time.

I also like styling it with a US NAVY dungaree shirt. Pairing it with this season's highly anticipated black chambray shirt creates a luxurious and superior feel by combining two classic pieces of US military wear.

Herringbone is a fabric I particularly love, as the atmosphere and bold look of the fabric can be used to add variety to your styling.

And its greatest appeal is undoubtedly the way it changes over time. The three-dimensional texture and fine creases of the fabric's appearance can be enjoyed as it is used and worn, and this is something that suits me and I think is the best part of military and workwear.

-SZ Herringbone-

Two different types of yarn, S-twist (clockwise) and Z-twist (counterclockwise), are alternately used as the warp threads to create a herringbone fabric with a firm, uneven texture and a well-defined feel. It's also extremely durable, and its charm lies in the way it develops a stunning, three-dimensional appearance over the years of continued wear. This original fabric is a masterpiece, a testament to Nigel Cabourn's deep pursuit of vintage style.

I own items made with the SZ herringbone fabric that have been released in the past, and they really do age beautifully and look great.

This time, I paired it with my VANS Old School shoes, a style that I've recently rekindled in my life after a long time, and I like styling that mixes street elements with the pants.

These tops and pants are clothes that look good even when they become worn out. The change in atmosphere created by wearing them carelessly, and the changes that occur over time are attractive, and the fact that they only get better with wear, gives them a more polished look and makes them look cooler, and I've come to realise this is the greatest value and appeal of this brand.

There's more to it than I can express here, so please come and see them in store and try them on!

Finally, following last month's impressive boxing match between Naoya Inoue, here's a historic match that changed soccer history this month.

10/14 Soccer National Team

Japan vs. Brazil

A historic friendly victory over the soccer powerhouse Brazil, a team Japan had never beaten before.

This was Japan's 14th match overall, and it was a spectacular match that defeated Brazil, a country superior in terms of history, record, technique, and physical strength. Moreover, Japan switched to an aggressive style in the second half, scoring three goals in just the second half, making it a truly spectacular match.

It seems that it's been 73 years since Brazil last suffered a comeback loss after a two-goal lead...

My first soccer World Cup was the 1994 World Cup in the USA, and I was shocked by the Brazil vs. Italy final. This comeback victory against a team like Brazil made for a truly moving October 14th, giving me hope for a more realistic goal of winning the 2026 World Cup next year. The drinks flowed beautifully that day.

If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to check out the highlights!
