This piece, typical of Nigel Cabourn, combines the lightness of hemp with a vintage-like check pattern. You absolutely cannot miss this!
This product is based on the "chore jacket," which originated from French workwear. A chore jacket refers to a simple, highly practical work jacket worn by labourers as work clothes at the time.
While moleskin and cotton twill are the mainstream materials for vintage garments, this piece uses "hemp material," which offers excellent breathability and lightness. Hemp is now a familiar material in the brand, but it is actually such a strong fibre that it is even used for the ropes of Shinto shrine bells, so it takes considerable skill to make it this thin and soft.
This level of quality, made possible by our trusted relationship with some of the country's leading factories, is truly indicative of the inherent value of the fabric itself. It offers a smooth and comfortable feel against the skin, while also being very durable.
Nigel Cabourn's hemp is special.
This time, we've used a vintage-inspired ombre check pattern on that hemp fabric. The shading and shifting colours of the check pattern are one of the iconic designs of American vintage clothing, and their popularity is evident from the recent surge in market prices.
Both of the colours being released this time are very appealing. Red has a clean, American casual vibe. And then there's the green, which evokes a sense of British calmness and elegance.
The exquisite colour scheme, which is hard to find even in vintage pieces, is undoubtedly one of this jacket's greatest charms.
And what I'd like you to pay particular attention to is the silhouette. It features a relaxed fit in the body and armholes, a well-ventilated open collar design, and playful, oversized slanted pockets. This balance is truly excellent.
The lightweight feel of the hemp fabric, combined with this size, makes it a versatile piece that can be worn not only in spring but also as a light jacket during the summer.

For styling, linen pants, military pants, or, as the weather gets a little warmer, shorts would be good choices for a spring/summer look.
