The recent temperature fluctuations have already caught a cold in me, but I'm really looking forward to spring.
Today we're introducing the USMC CHORE JACKET HERRINGBONE and the 40s MONKEY PANT, made from the same fabric. This set is perfect for your spring wardrobe, so please take a look at the styling as well.
This jacket is based on the work jacket used by the United States Marine Corps (USMC). First, there's the herringbone fabric, which has a vintage-like faded look and a clearly defined pattern, as you can see in the image.
This is a brand-original fabric created by MAIN LINE designer ZUKI, who analysed the yarn and went through numerous trials and errors to create it. The deep shadows and pronounced texture of the herringbone pattern create a three-dimensional effect, and its tear-resistant durability and abrasion-resistant toughness make it a garment you can cherish for a long time.
The matching MONKEY PANT was also created based on the overpants used by the United States Marine Corps (USMC). The monkey pocket on the back is a detail designed for carrying supplies, and it also has a very striking design element. This pocket detail is also seen in Nigel Cabourn's signature piece, the NAVAL DUNGAREE, and I think many people appreciate it.
Both the jacket and pants have an exquisite shape, with a gentle shoulder slope and a boxy silhouette typical of military jackets. The substantial volume of the pants also matches the three-dimensional herringbone fabric.
The patch pockets on the jacket and the cargo pockets on the pants feature contrasting fabrics of the same colour, creating a sophisticated look even when worn as a set, so I highly recommend it.
The TYPE2 model, a new version of Nigel Cabourn's signature BRITISH OFFICERS SHIRT, which is styled with this shirt, has a more relaxed boxy silhouette compared to the original model.
It features gathers on the back yoke and cuffs, resulting in a more comfortable fit. In addition, it uses a lighter pin oxford fabric compared to the standard thick oxford fabric, making it ideal for spring and summer as it is easier to put on and take off.
It comes in a wide range of colours, and this time I chose the recommended sax blue.
