Now, the item I'm introducing today is based on an extremely rare item from the British military surplus!
This garment is inspired by the gas-resistant and dustproof coats used by the British military in the 1940s. The original is an extremely rare item in the vintage market, making it difficult to obtain.
Nigel Cabourn Woman has created a design that is easy for women to incorporate into their styling by applying an original camouflage print to cotton typewriter fabric.
Detail
First, there's the neck flap, which faithfully reproduces the original details. All the buttons are snap buttons, making it easy to put on and take off. You can also change the silhouette by adjusting the buttons at the cuffs and the drawstring at the waist.
By unfastening the snap button on the back of the pocket, the gusset expands, allowing you to fit more items inside. This is another original detail.
The original design features a three-dimensional, bulging back so it can be worn while carrying a backpack or similar item. Unnecessary details have been deliberately omitted to make it more practical for modern use.
Material
The material is cotton typewriter fabric, commonly used for shirts.
Typewriter fabric is characterised by its thinness, durability, and lightness. Because it is made with a firm weave, it does not lose its shape or get damaged easily even with frequent washing, and can be worn for a long time.
Camouflage print

The camouflage pattern is created through a three-step printing process. First, the base colour that forms the foundation of the camouflage pattern is printed. Next, the pattern is printed on top of that. Finally, in the last step, another layer of colour is applied on top of the base colour to create a faded look. This three-step printing process faithfully reproduces the colours and textures of the original.
