NIGEL CABOURN X (RE)VISION SOCIETY COLLABORATE TO CREATE TIMELESS LIMITED EDITION PIECES

Nigel has collaborated with sustainable design company (re) vision society to create a unique limited edition bag and matching beret, which combines his passion for unique vintage finds and (re)vision’s focus on sustainability.

Called the Vintage Collector’s bag, it is constructed completely from dead-stock French work wear fabric from the 1940s and lined with cotton drill from WW2 and inspired in design by a French postal bag from the early 1940s.

Handcrafted by Taylor Kent & Co in their small workshop in Birmingham, England and trimmed with natural vegetable tanned leather, this versatile bag can be worn three ways – as a tote, rucksack or over the shoulder satchel.  Each bag is also embossed with a series number 1 to 60 showing its limited edition and comes with a very special story label made from an off cut of leather.

Stacey Cotter Maniere, founder of (re)vision society said:

“Sustainable practices are at the heart of every project we create, which is why there are only 60 of these bags and berets worldwide.  This is not mass-produced, we do things slowly and find beauty in celebrating the cracks and crevices.  Most of our projects are created out of materials that already existed in the world”

Nigel Cabourn said:

“For me any collaboration has to be meaningful as everything I do is about authenticity and integrity – the stories behind my collections, the fabrics and trims I use to interpret and recreate these designs are all carefully researched and sourced.  I’ve long been an admirer of the work of (re)vision society and Stacey has worked with me for a few years now helping with research and the idea for the collaboration came from our vintage trips together. In fact, we called it the Vintage Collector’s bag because we were always on the look out for the perfect bag in which to carry our vintage wares.”
