I’ve put together an outfit featuring the "ALOHA SHIRT - HYAKKENZU" (One Hundred Dogs) from OX’ed Silver—a standout piece for the summer season.

Since the shirt itself makes such a bold statement, I paired it with classic cargo pants and work boots.

Interestingly, despite the title "Hyakkenzu" (One Hundred Dogs), only 59 dogs are actually depicted in the artwork (haha).

It draws inspiration from the traditional Chinese artistic theme of "Hyakushizu" (One Hundred Children)—a motif depicting numerous children playing energetically, serving as an auspicious symbol for the prosperity of one's descendants. The artist adapted this concept by replacing "children" with "puppies" (*koushi*), choosing dogs as the subject to create a clever play on words that echoes the original "one hundred children" theme.

Records indicate that, in addition to this design, the artist also created versions featuring one hundred wild geese, monkeys, horses, oxen, sheep, and deer; I’d love to see those other versions someday if the chance arises.

Japanese patterns—ranging from kimono designs to traditional paintings—offer incredible depth and variety. Learning the stories behind these patterns makes you feel a deeper connection to the piece, so I highly recommend checking them out if you're interested!
