The fabric used is the classic "VINTAGE OXFORD" which is reminiscent of vintage canvas fabric.
Normally, to make a shirt, you purchase existing fabric from a fabric store and have it made, which takes about 2 to 3 weeks to complete the product.
But this is Nigel Cabourn, and he doesn't let it end normally.
This fabric is made with great care, starting with the raw materials of the thread, and special thread is made from extra fine cotton to maintain the fabric's durability and suppleness.
extra fine cotton is so rare that it is called "cotton cashmere." It is usually used in dress shirts, so it tends to seem delicate, but it is actually a strong material that can be worn comfortably all year round, is soft to the touch, and has high absorbency and moisture-wicking properties, so it can be worn comfortably all year round and will not easily break down.

This shirt is based on the shirt worn by British Army officers in the 1940s. What's striking is the curved hem, which is different from the usual hem.
At the time, shirts were considered underwear, so naturally, they were tucked into pants. This hem detail was designed to prevent the shirt from popping out.
I actually tried tucking it in, and I was blown away by how well it fit. It didn't ride up in my everyday life, or even while working in the store, and there was no bulk in the fabric, so it was perfect.
Nowadays, I think it's fine to go up one size and keep it untucked.

The collar style differs between the standard and TYPE 2.
The classic style is based on formal military uniforms, so it has wide spreads with hidden button-downs. The reason for the hidden button-down is that button-down shirts originated from sports shirts, so they don't go well with wide spreads.
This design allows the collar to fit better when the buttons are open, giving it an excellent look when worn without a tie.
The TYPE 2 has a regular button-down wide spread with a slightly narrow collar.
The TYPE 2 was created to make the classic BRITISH OFFICERS SHIRT more casual, and features delicate gathers on the back yoke for a more relaxed silhouette.
