Nigel Cabourn × UNIMATIC × The Armoury

The Armoury has released the Modello Cinque U5S-TANC, a collaboration between Nigel Cabourn, Italian watch brand UNIMATIC, and The Armoury.

This latest model inherits the philosophy of the Modello Due U2-NC, the first collaboration model with UNIMATIC, released in 2019. The previous model was inspired by the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition, one of the most challenging expeditions in human history, and was developed with a clear goal of "equipment for survival."

In line with this philosophy, the Modello Cinque U5S-TANC is designed as a modern expedition tool watch, embodying the philosophy of "exploration over decoration, function over fashion." It is available in two colours: U5S-TANC-A and U5S-TANC-B.

Available in either a Green or Navy Blue stonewashed Cerakote™ case and paired with a navy blue dial, they exude a subtle yet powerful military aesthetic.

Modello Cinque U5S-TANC

• Case

The core of the case design is the UNIMATIC's most versatile 36mm Modello Cinque case, chosen for its excellent balance and comfort, even in the most demanding environments. Crafted from 316L stainless steel with a Cerakote™ stonewash finish, the case features a fixed monobloc bezel, an 8mm Alchemical Sun screw-down crown, and a distinctive dazzle camouflage caseback. Each model is water-resistant to 300m/30 bar and individually tested for accuracy. It features UNIMATIC's exclusive 360° Protection System, which protects the internal mechanism from shocks and vibrations. Designed and manufactured in Italy, this system, along with the robust case construction, meets MIL-STD-810H testing standards, ensuring the reliability of a true expedition-grade instrument.

• Dial

The navy blue dial is designed with visibility and legibility as the top priority. The printed numerals are made with Super-LumiNova® GL Old Radium, and combined with the luminous open second rail and dial trim, they ensure high visibility in low light. The Nigel Cabourn logo in International Orange serves as a functional accent, striking a striking balance with the orange-tipped reverse lollipop second hand. The matte navy blue hour and minute hands are designed to stay true to the watch's functional origins, resulting in a thoroughly practical finish.

• Movement

The watch employs the highly reliable and environmentally resistant VH31A quartz movement. Housed within a 360° protection system, the Seizaiken battery provides accuracy of ±15 seconds per month and a battery life of approximately two years.

• Strap

U5S-TANC-A: Navy blue nylon keeper-type two-piece quick-release strap with UNIMATIC-signed green Cerakote™ stonewashed hardware.

U5S-TANC-B: Forest Night nylon keeper-type two-piece quick-release strap with UNIMATIC-signed navy blue Cerakote™ stonewashed hardware.
