The seasonal model of Nigel Cabourn's signature ARMY CARGO PANT has arrived.
They've released various colours and approaches in the past, including camouflage and black, but every model has been well-made and there are "no duds." This latest work also falls into that category, so I hope you'll pay close attention to it.
This product uses "ripstop," a representative military fabric. Ripstop fabric is characterised by its high durability because, even if a tear occurs, it stops spreading at the reinforced threads, making it less likely to tear. This is a key feature of ripstop fabric.
Furthermore, its lightweight and breathable properties led to its adoption in the "Jungle Fatigue" uniform developed by the U.S. military during the Vietnam War for combat in tropical regions. It is also known as a material that supported the mobility and comfort of soldiers in the hot and humid jungle environment of Vietnam.
For vintage enthusiasts, this fabric is a must-have, a gateway to American military style.
For the finishing touches on this ripstop fabric, garment dyeing (pigment dyeing) is used.
This dyeing method involves dyeing the finished product, resulting in natural shrinkage, wear marks, and variations in colour at the seams, creating a rich, worn-in look as if the garment has been worn for many years.
The ability to enjoy a vintage feel, as if the garment has been worn for many years, even though it's brand new, is a unique charm of garment dyeing. Nigel Cabourn is very skilled at this technique, so I highly recommend you check it out.
While the brand's signature colours, Green and Khaki, are certainly appealing, what we want to draw your attention to this time is the extremely rare "Off White" colour from the brand.
While "white" might seem unrelated to military wear, the US military actually used white cargo pants. It was used in the 1940s for combat and marches in snowy regions of Europe, and since the previous khaki and OD (olive drab) colours were too conspicuous in snowy fields, it seems to have been used as "snow camouflage."
Because the vintage version is designed as overpants, the pockets are pass-through and the waist is only secured with a drawstring, which, to be honest, makes it somewhat impractical in today's fashion scene.
With this product, you can wear it without having to worry about any of those issues. This is a watch that embodies Nigel Cabourn's signature "I wish something like this existed..." philosophy.
Height: 187cm / Wearing Size: 38
Personally, I like to style it with military green or navy. The sizing is the same as the standard size, so you should be fine choosing your usual size.
Just like previous releases such as the camouflage and black versions sold out immediately after launch, this Off-White version has already received a great deal of positive feedback. It pairs exceptionally well with this season's star outerwear pieces, such as the CRICKET CLUB US4 FLIGHT JACKET and SOUVENIR JACKET C/N WEATHER, so please consider it as a companion piece as well.
We look forward to your visit and inquiries.
