This product is based on the "grandpa shirt" style.
A classic Nigel Cabourn item, released in a variety of fabrics.
A quick look at the origins of its name.
It's known by various names, including grandpa shirt, grandfather shirt, and farmer shirt, but it's most commonly known as the "grandpa shirt."
The style gradually took shape around 1900 and was widely circulated from the 1930s through the 1960s.
Widely used as workwear and sleepwear, it was primarily used by various military forces and in other settings, especially in Europe, and was often worn tucked in.
A variety of versions of this product were available, including open-front, pullover, and collarless styles.

The fabric used is a thick-count shirting fabric produced in Nishiwaki.
Nishiwaki refers to Nishiwaki City in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan's largest cotton textile production area.
The thin fabric produced in the Kita-Harima region is called "Banshuori" and has been developed for over 200 years using a technique called "yarn-dyeing," in which the threads are dyed before weaving.
The region is surrounded by mountains on all sides and has abundant water sources, making it ideal for growing high-quality cotton. This has made it an established industry, accounting for over 70% of the domestic market share for yarn-dyed textiles.
Nishiwaki is characterised by its rich colours and soft texture, making it ideal for fabrics such as shirts.

A detail that's reminiscent of a grandpa shirt.
The front and back are different lengths, so you can wear it tucked in like back then, but you can also wear it tucked out to layer it with other items and add variety to your styling.

The fine gathers create a soft, relaxed fit and a three-dimensional effect around the wrist. These gathers, which are also found on many vintage shirts, give the shirt a classic yet elegant impression, and are also an appealing design.
This detail will come in handy when the temperature drops and you want to layer it under an inner layer.

Despite its casual appearance, the collar is a wide spread, typical of British gentlemen.
This collar style was formerly known as the "Windsor collar," and is a relatively formal style favored by British gentlemen. It got its name from the fact that it was favoured by Edward VIII, the Duke of Windsor and Prince of Wales of the United Kingdom.
After researching, I realised that this is why I had seen scenes of aristocrats wearing it at the racetrack when watching old movies.

This time, we asked Kamada, who is the same height as us, to try it on and created two different styling patterns.
This product can be worn tucked out, of course, but we also recommend tucking it in like Kamada.
The fabric isn't too heavy, so it's a style we highly recommend you try.
As the name "GRANDPA SHIRT" suggests, try out this "shirt that suits mature men."
We look forward to your visit and inquiries.
